Instant Expert - well, expert in a week. The website,
http://www.vebook.com, has a huge archive that fea-
tures interviews with real experts who have chosen ve
outstanding books that concern their area of expertise.
“Every day an eminent writer, thinker, commentator,
politician, academic chooses ve books on their [sic]
specialist subject.” Of course, the site is afliated with
book sellers who’d be happy to provide you with the
books. If you put all recreation aside for a week, you
could work your way thru ve books. At the end of that
time, you’d certainly be a bull-session expert on the
subject. You’d certainly know more than the average
college graduate.
Here are some subjects that caught my eye: Azer-
baijan - how much would you have to learn to know
more about this nation than anyone you ever met?;
Nordic Crime Fiction; Glamor; Science and Climate

“Are you an avid vulnerability hunter who wants to
earn an extra buck or two for your skills? If so, Google
would like a word with you. The company has an-
nounced a new experimental reward program for those
who nd security bugs in Google’s websites, following
a similar and successful program from earlier this year.
The rewards depend on the severity of the bug(s), but
range from $500 to $3,133.7 (wow, clever).
“According to Google’s blog post on the topic, all
of Google’s Web properties are up for grabs—that
includes YouTube, Blogger, Orkut, or any other web-
site that manages sensitive user data or accounts.
It’s the user data that’s important to Google, and the
base reward starts at $500 if you manage to nd a
vulnerability—in a test account, of course. If you don’t
want the money, you can donate it to charity with a
matching donation from Google.” Read more at: http://
